Is Parakeet AI really undetectable?

We wrote recently about what to check before trusting an AI interview copilot — one of the questions on that list was whether a tool is honest about what "undetectable" actually means. Parakeet AI is worth looking at directly, because it makes one of the strongest versions of that claim in the category.

What they actually say

Parakeet AI's own marketing, word for word, as of this writing: "100% Undetectable." Also: "Invisible on Screen Share," "Invisible in Dock," "Invisible in Task Manager," "Invisible to Tab Switching," and — specifically — that it's "designed to be undetectable by proctoring software, screen-sharing tools, and recording software."

That last one is the strongest version of the claim in this whole category. Most tools claim to be discreet during a normal video call. Parakeet is claiming to specifically defeat active monitoring software built to catch exactly this kind of tool.

The market's response to that claim

Here's what's genuinely interesting: an entire category of products now exists to test that exact claim. Several tools market themselves specifically as Parakeet AI detectors — not general anti-cheating software, named specifically at this product. A handful we found: Zero Assist, ParakeetDetector, Talview, and withSherlock, each explicitly claiming to detect Parakeet AI (and, in some cases, similar tools) during a live interview or proctored session.

That's not proof the detection works. But dedicated, named detector products don't get built for tools nobody's worried about — their existence is itself a signal about how contested the "undetectable" claim actually is.

One further data point, with a caveat: at least one third-party technical blog claims Parakeet's process is visible under a specific name in Task Manager, which would directly contradict the "Invisible in Task Manager" claim. We're citing that as what a third party reported, not as something we independently confirmed — it's worth treating as one data point, not settled fact, until you've checked it yourself.

What this actually means if you're deciding

Nobody outside Parakeet's own engineering team can tell you with certainty whether "100% undetectable" holds up against every proctoring tool, every screen-share configuration, and every future update on both sides. What's checkable is this: a claim that strong, made that confidently, has already drawn a small industry of tools built to test it. That's worth weighing against how much is riding on the answer being right in your specific interview.
