Crush Job — User Manual

Crush Job runs on Windows, macOS and Linux — the same app, the same four modules, the same files. Pick your platform on the download page and follow the one card below that matches it. Whichever you install, Crush Job opens when setup finishes and keeps itself up to date automatically from then on.

   Open Crush Job and start the Setup Wizard

   A short welcome screen greets you, then walks you through a few steps, one at a time. It only happens once.

   Link this device to your account

   Sign in on crushjob.ai, make an activation code, and paste it in. Codes expire after 10 minutes. Linking is required — it's what lets the app do any AI work. There are no other keys to paste.

   Tell it who you are

   Type your name, choose the folder where your documents live, and pick your current resume — a Word file or a PDF. That becomes your master resume: the trusted original every tailored version is built from. No resume yet? Click "Build My First Resume" instead (the Rezi Ninja chapter walks through it). A target salary range is optional.

   Choose Cloud Data Sync

   Click "Turn on Cloud Data Sync" or "Not now". Either answer is fine, and you can change it any time (see Chapter 8).

   Meet your Ninja Score

   Crush Job prepares your resume for tailoring, then scores it out of 100 against the rules resume-screening software uses. Under the score you see your top fixes, each with the points it's worth. The score is free and uses no AI.

   Try It on a Sample Job — or Skip to the Hub

   Click "Try It on a Sample Job" to finish setup and open Rezi Ninja with a sample posting already loaded and scored against your resume — the one your resume already matches best. Nothing is tailored until you click "Tailor With AI", and that button shows the price first. Rather go straight in? Click "Skip to the Hub".

   Bring in a real job posting

   In Rezi Ninja, paste the job description, or paste its web link and let Rezi Ninja fetch it. Click "Analyze →" and meet your Dicer JD Score — how well your resume already speaks this job's language.

   Answer the gap questions

   A few friendly questions about things the job wants that your resume doesn't mention yet. It only ever uses your real answers and never invents anything about you.

   Generate your application

   Click "Generate Application". You get a tailored resume, a matching cover letter, and a fresh tracker entry, saved into your Applications folder.

    Celebrate — and keep going

    When the interview invite lands, Interview Killer turns that application into a personal battle card.

There is nothing to set up and no keys to paste. Crush Job runs every piece of AI work — resume tailoring, live captions, your mock interviewer's voice — on its own provider accounts, paid for by your Crush Job account. Linking this computer to that account is the only step, and you do it once.

   Link on first run

   The Setup Wizard asks you to link this device to your crushjob.ai account: sign in there, make an activation code, and paste it in. Required to finish setup.

   Or link later, from Account & Usage

   In the Hub's top bar, click "Account" to open Account & Usage, then the Account tab. It shows whether this device is linked and lets you link it.

   That's the whole setup

   Every app can now do its work; you won't be asked again on this computer. If you ever see "Link this device to Crush Job to continue", the link was removed — open the Account tab and link again.

You'll never have to hunt for a download or reinstall — new versions arrive on their own, quietly, while you work. You can also just ask.

The app checks your plan before opening a module, so what you see matches what you're paying for.

Crush Job asks you once which format you want your documents in, then writes every one of them that way — your tailored resume, your cover letter, and the saved job posting. Your battle card is different: it always arrives as a PDF and a web page, so it opens anywhere.

   Open Preferences

   Hub → "Account" button → "Preferences" tab.

   Pick your format

   Under "Document format", choose "Word Doc (.docx)" or "PDF (.pdf)". Saved instantly, no Save button, no need to set it again.

   Rezi Ninja follows it

   Every resume, cover letter and saved posting Rezi Ninja writes uses this one setting. Rezi Ninja's review screen also has the same picker next to Generate, for switching just for the run in front of you.

The Hub keeps every application you've made in one browsable Job Tracker. When you want a copy — to keep, share, or open elsewhere — you choose the format: Excel, CSV, PDF, or a web page.

   Open the Job Tracker from the Hub

   Click "Job Tracker". Your applications open in their own window, already up to date.

   Click Export

   A save window titled "Export Job Tracker" opens, with your file already named for you.

   Choose the format

   Open "Save as type" and pick Excel workbook, CSV, PDF, or Web page. The Excel workbook comes with three sheets: Job Tracker (your applications, colour-coded by stage, priority and due date), Summary (counts by stage and priority with a chart) and Guide (a colour key). CSV opens in Google Sheets, Apple Numbers, and just about anything else.

   Save it — and it remembers

   Crush Job opens the file for you as soon as it's saved and tells you where it went. The next export opens on the format you picked last time.

Give an application its interview date and the Job Tracker counts down to it with four prep steps — build your battle card, rehearse in Mock It!, try Crush Coach, and review the card the day before. Each step ticks itself off as you do the work.

   Open the Job Tracker and pick the job

   In the Hub, click "Job Tracker", then select the application you have an interview for.

   Set the stage and the date

   Click "Edit". Set the Stage to Interview, set the Next Action Date to the day of the interview, then click "Save". At the Interview stage that date is the interview date.

   Read the ladder

   A "Prep Ladder" panel appears above the list, headed by a countdown such as "Interview with Acme tomorrow" and a count of how many steps are done. Each step shows when it is due — "By Sat Oct 3", "Due today", "Overdue", or "Done".

   Click a step to jump straight to it

   Each step has its own button — "Open Interview Killer", "Open Mock It!", "Open Coach", or "Open Battle Card". Interview Killer opens on that job and its battle card, and Crush Coach opens with that job's interview loaded, ready for Start Listening; Mock It! opens on its usual start screen.

The steps are counted back from the interview date, and each one ticks itself from work Crush Job can see for that job. You never tick a box by hand.

On the day of an interview, one click opens your battle card and gets Crush Coach ready with that job's interview loaded.

   Give the job today's date

   In the Job Tracker, a job at the Screen or Interview stage whose Next Action Date is today counts as interview day.

   Find the Interview Today card

   Select that job in the Job Tracker and an "Interview Today" card appears above the list. The alarm bell in the top bar offers the same button on that job's alert.

   Click "Start Interview Mode"

   Your battle card opens in its own window, and Crush Job switches to Crush Coach with this job's interview already loaded.

   Start when you're ready

   Nothing listens yet. When the call begins, click "Start Listening" in Crush Coach as usual.

An alarm bell in the top bar, next to Job Tracker, wears a red dot when an interview is close or a follow-up is due. Click it to see what needs you. It lives entirely inside the app — no pop-ups and no email.

Moving a job to the Offer stage is the best moment in a job search, and Crush Job marks it. You'll see at most one card at a time, and you can close any of them with one click.

Click "Job Tracker" in the top bar to see every application in one window. Most everyday changes take a single click.

Already tracking jobs in another app or a spreadsheet? Bring them all in at once. You check everything before anything is added, and nothing already in your tracker is changed.

   Save your old tracker as a CSV file

   Most job-tracking apps and every spreadsheet program can export or save as CSV. (A spreadsheet file itself won't work; save it as CSV first.)

   Click "Import" in the Job Tracker

   Pick the CSV file. Crush Job opens a review window before anything is added.

   Match your columns and stages

   Under "Match Your Columns", check that each field reads from the right column of your file — choose "Not In My File" for any you don't have. Only Company is required. Under "Match Your Stages", choose which of the six stages each status in your file becomes.

   Check the preview, then import

   The preview shows your first rows and what will happen to each: "Will Be Added", "Already In Tracker" or "Repeated In File". Click "Import Jobs" to add the new ones.

   Changed your mind? Undo it

   An "Undo Import" button appears in the Job Tracker until you close that window. It removes the jobs the import added, but keeps any you have already edited or worked on.

Your master resume is the trusted original. Set it once, update it whenever your career moves. It can start life as a Word file or a PDF.

   Pick it during setup

   The Setup Wizard asks for your current resume. Choose a Word file (.docx) or a PDF.

   Using a PDF? Check what was read

   Rezi Ninja reads the text out of your PDF and shows you exactly what it found, under "Use this PDF as your master resume". If it looks right, click "Create Word Copy". Rezi Ninja saves a new Word file named "<your file> (from PDF).docx" in the same folder, and that copy becomes your master. Your PDF is not changed, and no existing file is replaced. It uses no AI and costs nothing.

   Rezi Ninja remembers it

   From then on it's your master — the starting point for every tailored version.

   Update it later, any time

   In the Hub, click "Account", then the "Rezi Ninja" tab. Next to Master resume, click "Browse", pick your new file (Word or PDF, as above), then click "Save". Everything you tailor from then on reflects the update.

Everything in Rezi Ninja starts from a master resume. If you are a student, changing careers, or simply never wrote one, Rezi Ninja walks you through a short form and builds it from your answers.

   Open the form

   While you have no master resume, the "ATS Optimize and Enhance Resume" card shows a "Build My First Resume" button. The Setup Wizard offers the same button on the step where you give your name.

   Answer one short step at a time

   Contact, Target Role, Experience, Education, Projects and Skills, then Review. Click "Next" to move on, or "Back" to change an earlier step. Nothing you typed is lost either way.

   Add a date to every job, school and project

   For example Jun 2023 – Present, or 2021 – 2023. Rezi Ninja checks each step before letting you go on, and tells you exactly what is missing.

   Click "Create My Resume"

   Your answers are saved as a Word document in your Rezi Ninja folder, it becomes your master resume, and its Ninja Score appears on the card straight away.

Before you tailor for any one job, let Rezi Ninja strengthen the master itself — stronger verbs, results up front, tighter wording, and a tidier skills list. You review every change before anything is saved.

   Click "Enhance Resume"

   It sits at the bottom of the Dice It! window, and on the "ATS Optimize and Enhance Resume" card once your Ninja Score reaches 100. You can also reach it from the Hub ("Account" → "Rezi Ninja" tab) and from the last steps of the Setup Wizard.

   Watch it work

   A progress panel counts the improvements as they arrive, then checks every change against your original. No new facts, numbers or names are allowed in — any suggestion that tries is left out, and Rezi Ninja tells you how many.

   Review each change

   Every changed line shows the Original and the Refined wording, with a "Why" line under it. Click "Edit" to reword a line yourself, or "Use Original" to keep what you had.

   Click "Save Enhanced Resume"

   Rezi Ninja writes "<your file> - Enhanced.docx", makes it your master, keeps a copy of the old one in your "Original Resume" folder, and re-scores it.

   Look back any time

   Once saved, the card's button reads "Show Enhanced". It opens a free, read-only history of what changed. "Run New Enhancement" starts a fresh scan — it asks first, and your master stays as it is until you save the new suggestions.

No job posting to hand? Rezi Ninja comes with a library of made-up sample postings across many fields, so you can see the whole tailoring flow before you point it at a real job.

   It sits in the row under the job posting box, next to "Upload PDF". Search by role, company or keyword, or narrow the list by field, and read any posting on the right.

   Rezi Ninja opens the "Review & confirm" screen with the company, role and keywords already filled in. Picking a posting costs nothing.

   Click "Tailor With AI" when you are ready

   It sits on the "Proposed Resume Changes" card and shows its price right on the button. Nothing is tailored, and nothing is spent, until you click it.

   Click "Check Gaps" if you want the gap check

   A gap is a mismatch between the posting and your own resume, so on a sample posting it is checked only when you ask. It is part of the tailoring run you already started, not a second charge.

   Decide whether it counts

   A practice run stays out of your Job Tracker and your Armory stats. Tick "Save this run to my tracker" before you generate if you want it kept.

Rezi Ninja watches for three easy-to-miss problems and flags them at the top of the review screen, so you can act before anything is written.

Many employers collect applications through an online hiring system. When Rezi Ninja can tell which one a job uses, it shows that system's formatting notes right on the review screen.

   Collect what you receive

   A tailored resume, a matching cover letter, a saved copy of the job posting, a new tracker row, and an improved score (the "Dicer JD Optimized" number beside your original score).

   Find it in your Applications folder

   Everything lands there, grouped for this job. The finish screen lists every document it wrote with an "Open Folder" button. You get three documents — resume, cover letter, saved job posting — each in whichever format you chose.

Every application comes with a cover letter, and the "COVER LETTER" dropdown on the review screen decides how it is written.

Before a human ever reads your resume, software often screens it. Crush Job checks 11 things that resume-screening software looks for, and Dice It! wins your dropped points back in one click.

On the Free plan you can still try Dice It!: one fix a month, so you can watch your Ninja Score climb before you choose a plan.

   Check the hint

   When a free fix is ready, the "ATS Optimize and Enhance Resume" card says "Try one Dice It! fix free this month".

   Click "Dice It!"

   A window titled "Dice It! — Your Free Fix" opens with the fix worth the most points already ticked. Fixes that need AI are greyed out and marked as included with every paid plan.

   Pick one and click "Apply Selected"

   Tick a different fix if you prefer; you can choose one. If a fix needs a box filled in first, Rezi Ninja asks for it so your free fix is not wasted.

   See the lift

   Your resume is re-scored on the spot, with the before and after side by side, for example "Ninja Score: 82 → 88/100".

The LinkedIn Optimizer scores your profile section by section, rewrites it with you, and walks you through putting each change live on LinkedIn.

   Open the Optimizer

   On the Rezi Ninja home screen, find the "LinkedIn Optimization" card and click "LinkedIn Optimizer".

   Bring your profile in

   On the Import tab, choose under "Import from": Save-to-PDF Upload (the quickest), Clean Data Export (the most complete, but LinkedIn takes about 10 minutes to email it), Resume On File, or Paste Text. The tab shows the exact steps for getting the file from LinkedIn.

   Read your score

   Your Headline, About, Experience and Skills are each scored out of 100. A section below 100 says "Needs Attention", and the Optimizer opens the one that needs the most work first, marked "Start Here".

   Rewrite and review

   On the Optimize tab, pick a Tone, add any keywords you want worked in, then click "Rewrite and Optimize". Open each section to read the new text. "Show Changes" lists every changed sentence with "Keep Original" and "Use Refined" buttons, and "Edit" lets you change it by hand.

   Put it live

   Click "Next: Apply". Each card, biggest wins first, has a button to open LinkedIn, a "Copy" button for the new text, and "To Do" steps for pasting it in. Click "Done ✓" as you finish each one and watch the ring fill.

   Keep a record

   On the Report tab, tick PDF, HTML or both under "Save As", then click "Download Makeover Report" and choose where it goes. It shows the score of each section, before and after.

When you look over what Crush Job changed on your resume, you never have to wonder why. Every edited line shows you the exact requirement from the job posting it was tailored to match.

The Armory is a shelf of cards, one for each application Rezi Ninja has tailored, with everything that run produced attached to it.

   Open it

   On the Rezi Ninja home screen, the panel on the right shows your most recent application. Click the "Armory" button beneath it; it shows how many applications you have.

   Find the one you want

   Search by role, company or keyword, filter by stage, date, lift, format, location type or source, show only your favorites, and sort by newest, biggest lift, highest match or your own rating.

   Use the "Actions" menu on a card

   Open the folder or the original posting, "Export Packet", "Draft Follow-Up", "Review Edits" to see exactly what tailoring changed, "Copy Bullets", or jump to "Prep in Interview Killer" or "Practice in Mock It!".

   Head back

   Click "← Back" to return to the Rezi Ninja home screen.

Take your whole Armory with you as one polished report, in the same look as your battle cards.

   It is at the top right of the Armory, in the row with "← Back", "Full Screen" and "Refresh".

   Pick a format

   Under "Save As", choose "PDF", "HTML" or "PDF and HTML". HTML opens in any web browser; PDF is ready to print or send.

   Choose where it goes

   A save window opens with a name already filled in, Armory Report and today's date, starting in your Rezi Ninja folder. Because the name carries the date, tomorrow's report never overwrites today's.

Gather everything for one application into a single zip file, ready to attach to an email or an upload form.

   Find the application in the Armory

   Open the Armory and locate the card for the job.

   Click "Actions", then "Export Packet"

   The packet holds that application's tailored resume, cover letter and saved posting, plus its battle card if you built one.

   Find your file

   Your file manager opens with the new file picked out, and a line on screen says "Packet saved" and how many files went in. Packets are kept in a "Packets" folder inside your Applications folder, named after the company, role and date.

Turn any application into two ready-to-edit emails: a follow-up to the recruiter and a referral ask for someone you know there.

   Click "Actions", then "Draft Follow-Up"

   On the Armory card for the application.

   Add names if you like

   Type a "Recruiter Name" or a "Contact Name" for a personal greeting, or leave them blank for a general one.

   Copy or open it

   Each draft comes with its own subject line. "Copy" puts it on your clipboard, and "Open in Mail App" opens it in your email program, where you add the recipient and send it yourself.

The Armory, the review screen and the finished-application screen can each move into a window of their own, opened full size.

   It is at the top of the Armory and at the top right of "Review & confirm" and "Application created".

   Work in the big window

   The page moves rather than reloading, so your filters, scroll position and choices stay put. Back in the main window, the Rezi Ninja spot says "Rezi Ninja is open in its own window."

   Carry on through Generate

   Open "Review & confirm" full screen, click "Generate Application", and the finished application appears in the same window.

   Put it back

   Click "Exit Full Screen", close the window, or click "Return Here" in the main window. It also returns by itself when you go back to the Rezi Ninja home screen or jump to another module.

   Open Interview Killer from the Hub

   One click launches the module.

   Pick the application you're prepping for

   Interview Killer lists the ones Rezi Ninja has already tailored for you. Applied without tailoring? Use "I Already Applied" instead (see below).

   Tick the interview stages you'll face

   Pick up to five from Recruiter Screen, Hiring Manager, Technical, Panel, Executive and Offer (see Prepare for the offer call). The first two are ticked by default, and ticking more never costs extra.

   Click Generate Battle Card

   A progress bar fills while it works, then your draft appears. If one stage's section comes back too long to finish, it names that stage and suggests generating again without it.

   Read the whole draft first with View Now

   Opens in your web browser — works on any computer, nothing to install.

   Sharpen it with the strengthen questions (optional)

   "Strengthen Answers" gives you a short list of questions, each pre-filled with a suggested answer you can edit. Leave any blank to skip it, then click "Strengthen And Save", or "Skip And Save" to save without them. Entirely optional: "Save As Is" on the draft skips the questions altogether.

   Find it in your Interviews folder

   Saved in Interviews\Battle Cards as a web page and a PDF, and the PDF opens by itself the moment it is saved. "Open HTML" and "Open PDF" open either one again, and "Open Folder" takes you there.

Your battle card is a designed document, made to read on screen or print. The web page copy also has two study buttons for quizzing yourself.

Applied somewhere without tailoring in Rezi Ninja first? You can still get a battle card. It's built from the job posting and your master resume.

   It sits at the bottom of Interview Killer, beside Story Bank and Generate Battle Card.

   Fill in the job

   Type the company and the role. Then paste the job posting or its web link, click "Load File" for a saved posting (text, Markdown, PDF or Word), or choose one from "Pick a sample posting".

   Check your resume and stages

   The form names the master resume it will use. Tick the interview stages you'll face, just as on the main screen.

   Click "Build Battle Card"

   The price shows beside the button before you click. Your card is built, then you carry on exactly as with any other battle card — View Now, Strengthen Answers, and save.

Offer is a stage of its own, for the call where a company makes you an offer. Add your own numbers and your card gives you questions to ask and polite scripts built around them.

   Tick Offer in the stage list

   It sits beside the five interview stages. You can still pick up to five stages at once, and adding Offer never costs extra.

   Click "Offer Numbers"

   The button appears while Offer is ticked. Fill in Target, Walk-Away and any Competing Offers. Every box is optional.

   Click "Save Numbers"

   The button then reads "Offer Numbers · Saved". Your numbers go on the Offer stage of your next card. Changing them later changes the next card, not cards you have already built.

   Generate your card

   The Offer section holds Your Numbers, Questions To Ask About The Offer (base pay, bonus, equity, start date, benefits and what can move) and Scripts: when they ask for your number, asking for more, asking for time to decide, and mentioning another offer when you have one.

Technical interviews often include a System Design question, where you talk through how you would plan and build something big. Your battle card can carry a section just for it, at no extra cost.

   Tick the Technical stage

   An "Include System Design" box appears with the stages, already ticked. It only shows while Technical is ticked.

   Click "Generate Battle Card"

   The card gets a System Design section for the Technical stage, in the card on screen and in its PDF and HTML copies.

   Read what is in it

   Likely Topics taken from the job posting, three Practice Prompts, A Framework For Your Answer to follow, and Stories To Draw On, which are your own stories that fit each topic.

Every STAR story from your saved battle cards collects in one place. Improve a story once and every card that tells it gets the new version.

   Click "Story Bank"

   It sits at the bottom of Interview Killer, beside Generate Battle Card. Each story shows its four parts and which of your cards use it.

   Click "Edit" on a story

   Change its Name It, Situation, Task, Action and Result, then click "Save Story". "Back To Stories" leaves without saving.

   Every card that uses it is updated

   Your saved battle cards are rewritten with the new words, and so is what Crush Coach and Mock It! read for those cards. The status line says how many cards changed.

   Click "Use In Next Card" to reuse a story

   The button then reads "Picked For Next Card", and the Story Bank button counts your picks. The next card you generate is built around them.

New to the workforce? Turn a project, a class, an internship or volunteer work into a STAR story, written only from what you type.

   Open the strengthen questions

   Click "Strengthen Answers" on a new draft, or "Edit Answers" on a saved card.

   Click "Early Career Stories"

   A section opens with four prompts: Project, Coursework, Internship and Volunteering. Crush Job remembers that you turned it on.

   Answer the ones that fit

   Give each a short name if you like, then fill in Situation, Task, Action and Result in your own words.

   Save the card

   Click "Strengthen And Save" or "Skip And Save". Either way, each story you filled in completely goes on this card, and every one you started goes into your Story Bank.

Every card you have built waits under "Battle cards at the ready", four to a page.

Thought of a better example after you saved? Reopen a card's strengthen questions and fold in new answers.

   Click "Edit Answers" on the card

   Find it under "Battle cards at the ready". The strengthen questions open with the answers you gave last time already filled in.

   Change what you like

   Edit any answer or clear it. A blank answer is simply skipped. Opening the form and looking costs nothing.

   Click "Strengthen And Save"

   This is a new battle card run, so the price shows before anything is spent. Your saved card stays exactly as it was until the new version is finished, then the new version replaces it.

A short brief on the company you are interviewing with, read only from its own website. Every line names the page it came from, so you can check it.

   On any card under "Battle cards at the ready", or on the screen that appears when a new card is ready.

   Check the Company Website box

   It is often filled in for you from the job posting. Enter the company's own site, such as example.com. A job board or hiring-site address is turned away.

   Click "Build Company Brief"

   Crush Job reads the home page, plus an About, a Careers and a Newsroom page when the site has them, and skips pages that ask automated readers to stay out.

   Read it on your card

   A Company Brief section joins the card, with up to five lines each under What They Do, Recent News They State and Talking Points, plus a list of every page it tried. Crush Coach picks it up too.

A strip along the bottom of Interview Killer keeps score of your prep for the person you are working as. It is read-only and costs nothing.

   Prepare a battle card first

   In Interview Killer. Mock It! finds it automatically for your active person.

   Open Mock It! and pick your card

   Then, in Mock It! Settings, choose the "Interview Stage" to rehearse: Recruiter Screen, Hiring Manager, Technical, Panel, Executive or Offer.

Choose how each mock runs under "Interview Format" in Mock It! Settings. Every format costs the same as any other mock interview.

Offer is a round of its own: a recruiter or hiring manager walks you through a verbal offer and responds to your counter.

   Two lists: your microphone, and the speaker or headphones the interviewer's voice comes out of.

   Leave either one alone to use whatever your computer already treats as the default.

   Mock It! listens to your microphone for a moment, then plays a short tone through the speaker you chose.

   Read the result

   "Audio looks good" means your microphone is live. If you didn't hear the tone, choose a different speaker — the interviewer's voice comes out of exactly that device.

Sometimes Windows or macOS quietly refuses Crush Job the microphone, which would let an interview start, use your credits and hear nothing. Mock It! checks first.

   Get to the pre-flight screen

   If the microphone is blocked, the pre-flight screen shows a message instead and the interview does not start, so nothing is charged.

   On Windows

   Open Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone and turn on "Let desktop apps access your microphone". If Windows has turned the microphone off for every app, turn on "Microphone access" as well. Then try again.

   On a Mac

   Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone, turn Crush Job on, then reopen Crush Job.

One friendly number out of 100, built from two honest halves — how you said it and what you said.

Under your score, the "Question by Question" card goes through your interview one question at a time.

   It's on your results screen, on a past interview's results, on a Crush Coach interview in your Interviews list, and beside your debrief in Crush Coach.

   It's labelled Re-Drill Weak Answers and shows the price. A re-drill is priced like any other mock interview, and nothing starts until you begin.

   From a Mock It! result you get the same questions, follow-ups and all. From a Crush Coach debrief, you get the interviewer's own words from your real interview.

Every past mock interview in one list, scored or not, with its recording.

   On the Mock It! start screen, beside "Mock It! Metrics".

   Narrow the list

   Filter by "All Interviews", "With Recordings", "Scored", "Not Scored" or "Crush Coach Interviews", pick a stage, and sort by "Newest First", "Oldest First" or "Highest Score".

   Open an interview

   "Play Recording" watches it back, and "View Results" reopens its score and feedback. "Back to Interviews" brings you back to the list.

   Delete what you don't need

   "Delete Recording" removes only the recording. "Delete Score" removes only the score, and your progress is recalculated without it. "Delete Interview" removes everything about it. Each one asks you to confirm first.

Click "Mock It! Metrics" on the start screen, or "View Progress" on your results. It reads the interviews already on your computer, so it never costs anything.

   Anything from "1 mock a week" up to "7 mocks a week", or "Off".

   The report covers exactly what the filters show, and the menu tells you before you choose.

   Then pick "PDF", "HTML" (a web page) or "PDF and HTML".

   The name is filled in for you: "Mock It Report" and today's date.

   Open your report

   A polished summary of your headline numbers, latest interview, Score Journey, coaching insights and interview history, opening with a "What this report covers" box.

The better Crush Coach knows this role and your story, the more useful its suggestions.

   Open Interview Setup

   In Crush Coach, click "Interview Setup" on the Interview card. The menu at the top lists interviews you have already saved; leave it on "(new interview)" to start a fresh one.

   Fill in the job and your story

   Give it an Interview name and a Company name, then fill the boxes: Company info, Job description, Resume and Cheat sheet (your stories, numbers and anything you want to remember). Paste text in, or click Import File on the last three to bring in a text or Word file.

   Fetch Site

   Paste the company website into "Company website URL" and click "Fetch Site" to fill Company info from the page. If a site blocks it, Crush Coach says so and you can paste the text in yourself.

   Pull From Rezi Ninja

   Click "Pull From Rezi Ninja" to bring in the resume and job description from the application you tailored most recently, filling in the company and interview name too if they are blank.

   Save & Use For Interview

   Click "Save & Use For Interview" to save it and make it the interview Crush Coach coaches from. "Save" alone keeps it for later. Pick it mid-session and suggestions switch to it straight away.

The call type menu on the Audio card tells Crush Coach where each voice comes from. Hover the small "i" beside it for a reminder any time.

In VoIP mode Crush Coach listens to your computer's own sound to hear the interviewer. Each platform does that a little differently.

A thirty-second check that both sides will be heard, done before anything is recorded.

   Pick your call type and devices

   On the Audio card, choose the call type, then your microphone and, for VoIP, the output your call plays through.

   Click Test My Audio

   Click "Test My Audio" and say a few words. Crush Coach plays a short tone through your speakers to check it can hear the interviewer side too.

   A panel opens in the middle of the window with a level bar and a verdict for each device, plus what to change if something came back silent.

   Choose your microphone and speaker

   Pick the call type first (see Pick how the interview reaches you), then your microphone and, for a call on this computer, the output it plays through.

   Read the consent reminder

   Before your first session, Crush Coach shows a "Before you record" notice. It explains that both sides of the call are sent over the internet to be transcribed (that does not happen on your computer), that many places require everyone on the call to agree to being recorded, and that video platforms may limit recording or AI help. Following those rules is up to you. Untick "Save audio recordings" there if you only want a transcript, then click "I Understand — Continue".

   Start Listening

   Begins a live transcript in two lanes (You / Interviewer) and starts offering suggestions as questions come up.

   Pause or Stop whenever you like

   "Pause" quietly holds listening without ending the session; "Stop Listening" ends it and saves everything.

For one-way video interviews with preset questions and a timer. Crush Coach works only from the question text you give it and never looks at your screen.

   Choose One-way

   Set the call type to "One-way / recorded video interview" and click "Start Listening". Only your microphone is needed.

   Hand Crush Coach the question

   Copy the question from the interview site, then press Ctrl+Alt+Q to grab it from your clipboard. Or paste it into the question box under the transcript and click "Load". The overlay has the same box.

   Prep phase

   A countdown starts (about 30 seconds) and the teleprompter fills with a few talking points to glance at before you record.

   Answer phase

   When prep ends, a two-minute answer countdown begins and the points shrink to short keyword nudges you can catch while you speak.

   Next Q

   When you finish, click "Next Q" or press Ctrl+Alt+N. Crush Coach clears that question and waits for the next one.

They work even while your call app is in front. On a Mac the same keys are Control+Option (⌃⌥S and so on), with no extra permission needed. On Linux they need an X11 desktop; where they can't work, Settings says so.

The overlay is a small floating window that shows the latest suggestion and what the interviewer just said, so you can park it beside your call. Open it with the "Overlay" button or Ctrl+Alt+O.

Click "Settings" on the Interview card. Changes apply when you click "Save".

A Crush Coach session from your plan covers up to 70 minutes. If the interview runs long, Crush Coach asks before it spends any credits.

When the call ends, Crush Coach turns into a debrief partner.

Once Debrief Last Session has run, three more buttons on the Audio card turn the debrief into your next steps.

   Draft Thank-You Note

   Click "Draft Thank-You Note" for a short note built from the thank-you points in your debrief, with bracketed spots like [Interviewer Name] to fill in. Edit it, click "Copy To Clipboard", and paste it into your own email. It costs nothing, and Crush Job never sends it for you.

   Set Follow-Up Date

   Click "Set Follow-Up Date" to put "Follow up on the interview" on that job in your Job Tracker, five business days out unless you pick another day. Click "Save Follow-Up". The job stage stays as it is, the Job Tracker reminds you when it is due, and it costs nothing.

   Re-Drill Weak Answers

   If the debrief found answers worth another go, and you have a battle card for that company, click "Re-Drill Weak Answers". Mock It! opens with a practice interview built around those questions and shows the price before you begin. A re-drill is priced like any other mock interview.

Every Crush Coach session is kept, with numbers that show how you came across and a replay that follows the recording line by line.

   Open Past Interviews

   Click "Past Interviews" on the Interview card. It opens whenever no session is running.

   Read your numbers

   Tiles at the top show how many interviews you have recorded, your total minutes, "Your Talk Share" (how much of the talking was you, by words spoken) and "Questions Per Interview". They are counted straight from your transcripts, never estimated by AI.

   Find the session

   Each row shows the date, the company, the length, and whether it has audio, a saved debrief, or a link to a job. Filter to All, With Audio or With Debrief.

   Play Recording

   Click "Play Recording". The transcript appears as the recording reaches each line, with the current line highlighted and the suggestions Crush Coach made shown where they came up.

   Jump to Question

   Pick Q1, Q2 and so on from "Jump to Question" (each question is also marked on the timeline), drag the bar to scrub, or change the speed from 0.75× to 2×. Click "Back to Interviews" when you are done.

Each row in Past Interviews has three delete buttons. Every one asks you to confirm first, and nothing is ever deleted automatically.

Documents\Crush Job\<Your Name>\ is the root every profile gets — the same folder on Windows, Mac and Linux, just written with forward slashes on the last two. Everything below is organized from there.

You don't need Word or Excel to read anything Crush Job makes for you. Set your documents to PDF and every one of them opens on any computer.

One click saves your whole Crush Job into a single backup file: your people, resumes, cover letters, battle cards, interview sessions, Job Tracker and settings. Keep it somewhere safe and you can bring it all back whenever you need to.

   Open the Backup tab

   Hub → "Account" button → "Backup" tab. It shows roughly how big your backup will be before you start.

   Click "Back Up Now"

   Choose where to save the file — a cloud drive or a USB stick is ideal. Tick "Include interview recordings" if you want your Crush Coach audio and Mock It! recordings too; they make the file much larger, and written notes and transcripts are always included. "Show File" takes you to your most recent backup.

   To put it back, click "Restore From Backup"

   Pick a backup file. Crush Job tells you when it was made and what's inside, then asks you to confirm.

   Click "Restore and Restart"

   Everything in the backup goes back where it belongs, replacing what's there now; files you created after the backup are kept. Crush Job restarts when it finishes.

Your backup file carries your whole job search to another computer — even one running a different operating system.

   Back up on your old computer

   Click "Back Up Now" on the Backup tab and copy the file somewhere your new computer can reach.

   Install Crush Job on the new computer

   Download it for that platform and open it. The Setup Wizard starts.

   Click "Restore From Backup" on the welcome screen

   Look for "Already using Crush Job?" on the first screen of the Setup Wizard, then pick your backup file. Crush Job puts everything back and restarts.

   Link the new computer to your account

   Sign in on crushjob.ai, make an activation code and paste it in — the same step as any first setup.

Leaving, or handing the computer to someone else? "Delete All My Data" removes everything Crush Job keeps on this computer in one go.

   Hub → "Account" button → "Account" tab. "Delete All My Data" is the last card.

   Read what goes

   Your settings, every person profile (including each Job Tracker, battle-card prep and Armory history), your saved keys and this computer's link to your account, plus usage history and app logs. The link is also removed from your account's device list.

   Back up first, if you like

   Under "Back Up First (Optional)", click "Back Up My Data" to save a backup file you can restore later. Save it outside the folder being deleted.

   Type DELETE and confirm

   Type DELETE in capitals, then click "Delete All My Data". Crush Job closes, deletes the data and reopens on a fresh Setup Wizard.

Cloud Data Sync is off until you choose otherwise, and one switch covers every profile on that computer — it isn't set per profile.

   Answer the question during setup

   Setting up Crush Job for the first time asks whether you want Cloud Data Sync on. Either answer is fine — you're not locking anything in.

   Change your mind any time

   Open the Hub's Account tab and flip the Cloud Data Sync switch there, whichever way you land during setup. Turning it off stops both directions at once: nothing further is sent, and nothing further is received.

   From the app

   Open the Hub's Account tab and click "Erase My Cloud Copy" on the Cloud Data Sync card. It removes everything Cloud Data Sync has stored in your account, for every linked computer, after you confirm with "Erase". Cloud Data Sync is switched off first so nothing uploads straight back, and nothing on your computer is deleted. You can switch sync back on whenever you like.

   From the website

   Open the Cloud Data Sync page under your Account on crushjob.ai. It shows what's stored and lets you delete it the same way — all of it, or one profile at a time.

   Deleting your account does this too

   Deleting your crushjob.ai account removes everything Cloud Data Sync stored, along with your plan, credit balance and linked devices. This can't be undone.

   Open Account in the Hub

   The Account tab shows your plan, what it includes, and your credit balance.

   Click Manage Account

   Opens your account on crushjob.ai in your browser, where the full transaction history lives.

   Buying more, if you need it

   The "Credit Packs" button beside your balance goes straight to the packs.

Every account has its own invite link. Share it, and you both come out ahead.

   Find your link

   On the website, open your Account page and look for "Invite a friend" — your personal link, a QR code, and a ready-to-send message. In the app, open Account, then the "Refer a friend" tab for the same link and QR code, with "Copy Link", "Copy Message" and "Email a Friend" buttons. The tab is there whenever the referral program is running.

   Share it your way

   Copy the link or email it from either place. Opening this page on a phone adds a Text button too. The desktop app has no text button — Windows, Mac and Linux share no way for an app to open your phone's messaging — so it shows a QR code instead: scan it with your phone's camera and your link opens on the phone you'd actually text from.

   Your friend gets a welcome bonus

   The moment they create their account, a bonus of credits lands in their new balance automatically.

   You get credited when they pay

   The first time your friend upgrades to a paid plan or buys a credit pack, your reward lands in your own balance on its own — no claiming, no waiting on a payout.

   Track your invites

   Your Account page (both the website and the app) shows how many friends have signed up, how many have gone on to buy, and how many credits you've earned from referrals so far.
